Privacy statement

This statement explains what data we collect through voice-events.nl, what we use it for, who we share it with and what you can do yourself. We keep it as short as we can and as complete as we must.

Who we are

VOICE EVENTS B.V. is responsible for processing personal data through this website.

  • VOICE EVENTS B.V.
  • Joost Banckertsplaats 63, 3012 HC Rotterdam, the Netherlands
  • Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 24372848
  • jorge@voice-events.nl

Send questions about privacy or your data to jorge@voice-events.nl.

Contact form

When you fill in the contact form, we receive your name, email address, your phone number if you enter it, the subject and your message. We only use this to answer your question and, for a booking or collaboration, to arrange it further with you.

The message is stored in our database and also sent to our email address. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering questions, or taking steps towards a contract if you want to hire us.

If you have accepted marketing cookies (see below), we also tell Meta that a form was sent, together with your email address, phone number and name in encrypted (hashed) form. Meta cannot turn these back into the original text, but can compare them with the details of an existing Facebook or Instagram account. That shows us whether an ad led to an enquiry. Without that consent, this does not happen.

Visitor statistics

We keep simple visitor statistics with our own measurement, without cookies and without any third party. For each page view we record:

  • which page was viewed, and whether a ticket button was clicked;
  • which website you came from (the domain name only);
  • the language of the site and whether you are on a mobile device or a computer;
  • an anonymous code we create each day from your IP address and browser. The code changes the next day and cannot be traced back to your IP address. We do not store your IP address itself.

This does not let us recognise anyone. We use it to see which pages and events are viewed most. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the website.

Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram)

Only if you give consent in the cookie banner do we use the Meta pixel and the Conversions API of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. If you decline, nothing is sent to Meta and Meta's script is not even loaded.

With your consent we share the following events with Meta:

  • which pages you view;
  • which event you view (name, date, venue and city);
  • that you click a ticket button;
  • that you send the contact form;
  • that you click an email, phone or WhatsApp link.

Technical data is included so Meta can link the event to an account: your IP address, your browser, Meta's cookies (_fbp and _fbc), a random visitor code of ours and, after the contact form, your details in hashed form. Part of this data is sent to Meta through our own server (the Conversions API), so it also arrives if your browser blocks the pixel. This only happens with the same consent.

We use this to measure which ads work, to show ads to people who have shown interest in our events, and to reach similar audiences.

We and Meta are jointly responsible for collecting and sharing this data. What Meta does with it afterwards is Meta's responsibility; see Meta's privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy. The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time through 'Cookie settings' at the bottom of every page.

Cookies

We use the following cookies:

  • voice_consent: remembers whether you accepted or declined marketing cookies. Functional, 6 months.
  • voice_vid: a random visitor code we share with Meta. Only after consent, 6 months.
  • _fbp and _fbc: cookies of the Meta pixel; _fbc holds the click code when you arrive through an ad. Only after consent, 90 days.
  • voice_admin: only for administrators who log in to the admin area of the site. Functional.

After consent we also keep the hashed details from the contact form in your browser (localStorage), so Meta can recognise you better on a later visit. If you withdraw consent, we remove Meta's cookies, the visitor code and this data from your browser.

Videos and ticket sales

Videos on the site come from YouTube and are loaded through youtube-nocookie.com. YouTube does not set cookies until you play the video. If you play a video, Google processes data under its own privacy policy.

We do not sell tickets ourselves. You buy them from a ticketing party such as Ticksz, CM.com, Ticketmatic or a theatre box office. For some events the ticket sale opens in a window on our site, but even then you give your details directly to that party, and its privacy policy applies.

Who we share data with

We do not sell data. We only share it with parties we need to run the site, and with whom we have agreements about it:

  • Vercel: hosting of the website;
  • Supabase: our database, with servers in Frankfurt;
  • Mijndomein: forwarding messages from the contact form by email;
  • Meta: only with your consent, as described above.

Vercel and Meta may process data in the United States. This is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

  • Messages from the contact form: as long as needed to handle your question, and after that no longer than two years, so we can look back if you follow up.
  • Visitor statistics: these contain no personal data and are kept as long as they are useful.
  • Cookies: see the periods above. What Meta keeps falls under Meta's policy.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data. You can object to its use, ask us to restrict it, or ask for your data in a usable file. Any consent you gave can be withdrawn at any time.

Send your request to jorge@voice-events.nl. We respond within one month. If we cannot resolve it together, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at https://www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Security

The site only works over an encrypted connection (https). The admin area is password protected, and only the people who need to answer messages have access to the database.

Changes

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we update this statement. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
